For the best outcomes, it is important that your vascular disease is diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Your physician may recommend several different types of testing to obtain a proper diagnosis and initiate an individualized treatment plan.

Testing - Vascular Clinic The Vascular Clinic at St. Vincent Healthcare identifies, diagnoses, and prescribes treatment for various conditions, including Peripheral Arterial Disease. Here, our team of cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgeons, cardiologists, interventional neuroradiologists and interventional radiologists work together to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms, then create a treatment plan customized to fit your needs.

The test performed in the Vascular Clinic include:

  • Vascular ultrasound, such as carotid ultrasound
  • Venous ultrasound of the arms and legs (also called an Ankle-Brachial Index)
  • Pulse examination and pressure monitoring
  • CT or MRI
  • CT angiography (CTA) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA)
  • Stress tests
  • Endovascular testing

A variety of therapies and interventions may be used, most of which can be done on an outpatient basis.
