Volunteer Position Description Summaries for Adults (check all that apply):
Volunteer where you can help people select a perfect gift that is sure to bring smiles all around. In our gift shops, our volunteers provide great customer service and a unique shopping experience. Our friendly volunteers use a cash register and credit card machine, make deliveries to patient rooms, and display merchandise and restock as needed. Our gift shops are sponsored by the St. Vincent Healthcare Volunteers. Proceeds support a variety of worthwhile projects that benefit our patients, their families and our community.
M-F, 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm or 5pm-8pm

This is an audio/visual store that rents and/or checks-out videotapes, audio/visual equipment and keeps track of equipment throughout the hospital. Volunteers deliver VCRs and movies to patient rooms, help set up equipment in meeting rooms and keep records. If you're good with electronics and enjoy people, Audio Visual Services may be for you.
M-F, 8am-1230pm or 1230pm-5pm

The Cheri Nook Express is our coffee shop on wheels. Two volunteers make rounds throughout the hospital, serving coffee, tea and lemonade to families and staff. It's a great chance to make our visitors feel welcome and they in turn appreciate your kindness.
M-F, 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm

Here volunteers use professional skills to answer phone calls, assist staff and use various office machines. Volunteers may use computers, file, address envelopes, assemble packets, run a copier, organize materials or act as receptionist - duties depend on skill levels and office needs. Clerical volunteers are professional and enjoy an office setting.
M-F, Varied shifts per department need and volunteer availability

Volunteer from home by making lap-blankets, walker bags, baby caps, pillows and more. If you have special "handicrafter" talents and would like to make gifts for our patients, volunteering from the comfort of your home may be just the ticket! Our patients treasure the handmade gifts made and given by our wonderful handicrafter volunteers.

A great position for book worms! Library volunteers sort, stack, stamp, send, copy, and compile information. This is a great place to work if you love books, research and helping others.
M-F, Varied shifts per library need and volunteer availability

A cheery smile and professional attitude are a must in this position that welcomes patients and visitors to the hospital. Volunteers answer questions and give directions, representing the hospital and providing excellent customer service. They also deliver patient mail, offering to read get-well wishes to those who need help. Guest Services volunteers also run errands, provide clerical support and in the afternoon, deliver flowers to our patients.
M-F, 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm or 4pm-7pm, Sat & Sun shifts available

A home away from home for families with seriously ill children, the Family Room is staffed with volunteers who help these families find a safe haven where they can rest and find mutual support.
Open 7 days a week - 12:30pm-3:30pm or 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Volunteers who like to keep moving enjoy picking-up and delivering mail and lab specimens to departments throughout the hospital. If you like walking and being active this may be the position for you.
M-F, 8am-12 pm or 1 pm-4 pm

Volunteer where you can provide comfort and information to patients' families during a stressful time. In our Surgery, Surgery Plus, and ICU waiting rooms our volunteers are compassionate listeners, able to assist visitors and facilitate good communication between families, friends and staff.
