Ongoing Programs

Pediatric Grand Rounds
Continuing education for pediatric healthcare providers. This program is offered on the first, second and third Friday of each month from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Pediatric Nursing Grand Rounds
These monthly one hour scholarly presentations (4th Wednesday, 11:30am-12:30pm) present current nursing research as well as topic related to clinical practice, research, education and patient/family values and preferences. (CNE credit is available.)

Primary Children's Grand Rounds
Continuing education for pediatric healthcare providers. This program is offered every Thursday of every month from 8:00-9:00am. Target Audience: Hospital staff and community-based pediatricians, family practice physicians, physician assistants, nurses and any practitioners who provide care for children of any age.

Seattle Children's Pediatric Nursing Grand Rounds
Continuing education for pediatric healthcare providers. This program is offered on the first Thursday of every month from 1:00-2:00pm. Evidence based practice review and case study discussions of pediatric nursing medicine. Target Audience: Hospital staff and community-based pediatricians, family practice physicians, physician assistants, nurses and any practitioners who provide care for children of any age.

Trauma Grand Rounds
These one hour educational programs are offered on the fourth Monday and fourth Friday of every month. Primary Children's Medical Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Neonatal/Perinatal Educational Series
Continuing education for neonatal and perinatal healthcare providers. This program is offered Thursdays, 12:00-1:00pm.

Noon Diabetes Talks
These monthly one hour programs are offered on the first Wednesday Oct. - May from 12:00 to 1:00pm. This course is primarily for patients with diabetes, their family members and caregivers. It is appropriate for any health professional who works with people with diabetes.

EMS Live at Night
These monthly one hour programs are offered on the first Tuesday of every month Oct. -  June. Target Audience:  All EMS, medical, fire and law enforcement personnel who are called for assistance.

U of Wash. Series for Firefighters
This monthly program occurs on the first Tuesday of every mother from 10:00am-1:00pm. Primarily targeted for EMTS, Paramedics, Firefighters and any first responders.

Multidisciplinary Trauma Lecture Series
Continuing education for healthcare providers working with trauma departments. This program is offered on the third Monday of every month, 12:00-1:00pm.

Dept. of Medicine Grand Rounds
These weekly one hour programs are offered every Thursday from 7:00-8:00am. Objectives are: Discuss new developments and trends in medicine. Apply current and updated concepts to their clinical practice.

Collate and integrate new research data in order to reach appropriate treatment decisions.

Utah Trauma EMS Grand Rounds
University of Utah Healthcare offers EMS Trauma Grand Rounds on an every other months basis to EMS providers in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Alaska. Times and dates vary and will be announced two months in advance.

Utah Diabetes Telehealth Program
This one hour bi-monthly program is offered on the third Wednesday every other month. The program will discuss the latest techniques in the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Good Grief at Noon
This multidisciplinary monthly sessions (2nd Tuesday, 12:00-1:00pm) focus on various bereavement-related topics. (No CE credit although certificates of attendance are available by request.)

Weight Loss Surgery Seminars
These monthly one hour programs are offered on the first Thursday of every month. The purpose is to provide information to those considering weight loss surgery, including explanation of the surgery, pre and post surgery program requirements and financial considerations.
