Iron Panel
The Iron Panel is used to help monitor liver function and nutrition. The iron panel includes:
- Serum Iron - measures the amount of circulating iron that is bound to transferrin. Clinicians order this laboratory test when they are concerned about iron deficiency, which can cause anemia and other problems.
- Transferrin - carries Iron into the body's cells. Transferrin may be used to check for Iron deficiency, iron overload.
- Total iron binding capacity - may be used to check for anemia, or iron deficiency.

- Wear a short sleeved shirt or a shirt with sleeves that roll up easily.
