The Basic Dysrhythmia Interpretation Course is a course designed for healthcare professionals who have either never taken a dysrhythmia course or who would like to refresh the basics of dysrhythmia recognition and management.
This course begins with a pre-test designed to help identify knowledge gap and individual learning needs. This is followed by a brief discussion of anatomy and the physiology of cardiac conduction and then covers the basics of how to read an EKG strip, and the normal components of the EKG waveform. Cardiac dysrhythmias, including sinus, atrial, junctional, heart blocks, and ventricular dysrhythmias are examined. At the end of the course a post-test is administered to all participants. A score of 80% on the post-test is required to pass the course. This is a two day course.
