Hardin Clinic Employees Give Large Gift to Big Horn County Library
May 28, 2009
Employees of St. Vincent Healthcare’s Hardin Clinic presented a check for $3500 to Big Horn County Library‘s Friends of the Library. The check presentation came on Monday, March 23rd to Donelle Boyer, youth services librarian.
“I write grants for the library all the time but this would be the most I’ve ever received and didn’t have to ask”, commented Boyer. Boyer will use these funds for the summer children’s reading program.
The gift comes to the library through St. Vincent Healthcare’s Share Our Spirit (SOS) campaign. Each fall St. Vincent Healthcare offers its employees the opportunity to say “I gave at the Office” during the annual employee giving campaign. Hardin Clinic Manager, Brenda Fenner and Gail Lane, Hardin Clinic’s SOS Ambassador, surveyed the community to select a not for profit organization to receive the funds donated by employees and chose the Friends of the Library.
St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation SOS Campaign Coordinator Susie Barbero and Campaign Co-Chair, Brenda Nagel drove from St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings to help present the check. “These St. Vincent Healthcare employees of the Hardin Clinic have certainly showed their generous spirit,” commented Barbero. “We are delighted they are directing their contribution to help kids get excited about reading during the summer.”
47% of the 2200 St. Vincent Healthcare employees chose to gift more than $242,000 in support of fellow SVH employees in need and for community human service programs including the United Way of Yellowstone County during the 2008 employee giving campaign.
