When a cancer patient first hears he or she has cancer, there are many questions that arise. They may be unsure of the next steps, worried about insurance and financial issues or feeling alone in their situation.
At St. Vincent Healthcare, we offer the services of a patient navigator who supports the patient, and often their families, as they learn more about the disease and how to navigate the journey ahead. Patient navigators may coordinate appointments between health care providers, answer questions and help link patients to financial assistance if needed.
