Symptoms

Cardiac symptoms vary from person to person, and also vary based on the underlying cause of the heart problem. Some of the most common include:

  • Chest pain or discomfort, which may extend to the shoulders, arms, back and neck
  • Shortness of breath
  • Irregular heart beats
  • A lack of energy
  • Weakness, nausea or dizziness
  • Sweating unrelated to exercise or exertion
  • Swelling in your ankles or feet, or abdominal bloating

If you experience one or more of these symptoms, it is important that you see your physician as quickly as possible.
