The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital. Your physician, as the coordinator for your treatment program, should be consulted if you have questions about your illness. Additionally, you may be visited during your stay by one of our hospital-based physicians. If you do not have a local primary care physician your surgeon may consult one of our highly qualified hospital-based physicians on staff.
Patient Care Staff
Twenty-four hour care is provided by a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants and respiratory therapists. There is a Clinical Supervisor on the unit 24 hours a day. Please feel free to contact your caregiver, Clinical Supervisor or the Manager of the Patient Care Unit, if you have questions or concerns.
Our therapy staff includes Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. You will encounter both Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy during your stay. They play a vital role in regaining your mobility as well as giving you tools to help with your activities of daily living during your recovery.
Orthopedic Care Coordinator
Our Orthopedic Care Coordinator is available to assist you with any aspect of your stay at St. Vincent Healthcare. The Orthopedic Care Coordinator is happy to provide you with a rapid response to any questions or concerns that you may encounter. Your complete satisfaction is our primary goal. St. Vincent Healthcare believes that patient-focused care involves attention to the spiritual as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient. If desired, clergy from any denomination or religious affiliation will be contacted to meet your needs. Notify your caregiver for all pastoral service requests. Your personal priest, minister, rabbi or other clergy is always welcome to visit you while you are here.
Your room is cleaned daily by a member of the housekeeping staff. If there is a housekeeping concern with your surroundings, please tell your caregiver and it will be taken care of.
During your stay, you may be visited by many other healthcare professionals, including dieticians and room service delivery personnel, as well as laboratory and radiology technicians. In addition, the St. Vincent Healthcare family includes many behind-the-scenes workers, such as engineers, secretaries, food service workers and others who contribute greatly toward your safety and well-being while you are here. All hospital personnel are easily identified by a visible hospital name badge. We also have security officers on duty 24 hours a day.
