We should be able to meet our new little addition to the family in the next week or so! Dr. Malloy has confirmed for me that my body is ready, the baby has dropped and now it is only a matter of time. We thought that we were going into labor last week, but it was a false alarm. The team at Labor and Delivery at St. V’s were wonderful and made us feel so comfortable about the upcoming delivery. I am thinking that it was more of a practice run, so my anxiety is definitely not nearly as high as it was.
This being my third pregnancy, it will hopefully be the first time I go into labor all on my own without intervention, so you can imagine how strange this feels. I am always on alert with every new feeling or movement. I have decided to take some time off of work to rest before the little guy arrives and the afternoon naps are definitely making up for all of the lost sleep through the night (sleeping is pretty tough at this stage in pregnancy but then again, so is walking, breathing, bending over, fitting into my largest maternity clothes, eating regular meals and just overall getting comfortable).
All in all though, we are elated that this has been a wonderful, exciting and healthy pregnancy, thank God. I am amazed each day at how this little miracle within me will soon be here for us all to watch grow and love. As bittersweet as it is to know that this will be our last, we are excited for the next season of life. We look forward to seeing our boys grow into men and one day experience the extraordinary gift of love they will feel with their own children that we have been given for them. So, as the big birth day approaches, we want to thank all of you for going on our journey with us! Now...if we could just pin down a name...
