Gastric Bypass Surgery, the surgery for weight loss, is offered in Billings. This surgery, referred to as bariatric surgery or gastric bypass surgery, promotes weight loss by restricting food intake and/or interrupting digestive processes. The stomach pouch is made much smaller, about the size of a golf ball, and a portion of the small intestine is re-routed. This results in both a restrictive process and a malabsorptive process.
Weight Management Clinic provides consultation and referral for this surgery. The clinic works closely with those Billings surgeons who perform bariatric surgery, and provides the pre- and post-operative care and support to ensure your long-term success and health. Bariatric surgical seminars are held the first Thursday of each month. At this seminar, you will meet our bariatric nurse educator, the dietician, and one of our surgeons. The seminar will provide information about Gastric Bypass Surgery and our program. There is opportunity for questions and discussion. The seminars are open to the public and are free of charge. Call the Weight Management Clinic at 248-4580 for specific details.
